Durwood "DJ" Heinrich, Ph.D. Motivational Speaker, Management/Aviation Consultant, Award-Winning Author, Editor, and Pilot
Dr. Heinrich holds a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master of Science Degree in Management and Administrative Sciences from the University of Texas, and a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University. He is also a graduate of the University of Southern California's Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation School.
Dr. Heinrich is a motivational speaker, safety consultant, writer, commercial pilot, and Certified Flight instructor. He spent most of his 41-year aviation career as the Director of Aviation and Chief Pilot for two major corporations. Prior to joining those companies, Dr. Heinrich served in the U.S. Air Force as a T-38 Master Instructor Pilot and had brief tours as an airline pilot and a jet charter pilot. As an Airline Transport Pilot, Instructor Pilot, and FAA Pilot Examiner, he has accumulated over 14,000 accident-free flight hours. Aircraft recently flown as Pilot-in-Command include the Bombardier Global Express, Bombardier Challenger 604, and the Dassault Falcon 2000 aircraft. He also served as the Central Regional Representative for a national business aviation organization that has been assisting businesses in becoming more efficient, productive, and successful since 1947. In this capacity, Dr. Heinrich had responsibility for nine states.
Dr. Heinrich is recognized throughout the corporate aviation industry for his contributions to safety through his presentations on fatigue/stress management, flight crew duty guidelines, risk management, approach-and-landing accident reduction, situation awareness, health/fitness, and innovative safety enhancement programs. He also provides aviation-related presentations as a Guest Lecturer aboard various cruise ships and luxury mega-yachts.
Because of his experience over the years in carefully preparing and delivering effective PowerPoint presentations, Dr. Heinrich is uniquely qualified though his experience and proven success to pass that expertise on to his customers. DJ has assisted many others in developing powerful and engaging presentations that achieve results.
In addition to his dissertation, Dr. Heinrich has written a book (ATTACK OUT OF THE SUN: Lessons from the Red Baron for Our Business and Personal Lives, available from www.iUniverse.com,www.Amazon.com,www.BarnesandNoble.com, or www.Borders.com) on Manfred von Richthofen (The Red Baron) and frequently gives presentations on ways the Baron's legacy can be effectively applied as lessons to our everyday lives and businesses.
Dr. Heinrich is currently writing his second book, What I Learned at 45,000 Feet. He is the President of the San Gabriel Writers' League. He writes monthly articles for both The Gabriel Writer (The League publication), The Quiet Birdmen Beam (The Quiet Birdmen aviation organization publication), and The Current (the Berry Creek Country Club publication).
